| The scripts provided here are part of the Robots Information/Control Protocol (RICP),
an effort to establish standards for bots in SL™ similar to the Web's robots.txt.
We
have developed scripts that provide information to the bots, as they crawl SL. The mechanism for all
these scripts is the same, and it is quite simple: the bots carry a script that announces the bot presence on the
sim on a specific channel; scripts listening to that signal can then IM the bot with control information as well as with
additional information to be added
to data collection services such as Metaverse Ink search. For details on the format of the information, please see the scripts; they are self-documented. |
